Create spend monitoring trackers to keep an eye on your spend even while you sleep
Initially when you first visit Trends & Anomalies -> Anomaly Monitoring you will see there are no monitors defined.
1) To define a monitor visit the Cost Timeline tab:
2) Use the "Breakdown by" dropdown to select a cost dimension that you would like to track anomalies against, for example services:
3) Use the filters to refine the scope of the monitoring. For example, to monitor for EC2 spend anomalies in a certain account:
4) Click "Create Anomaly Monitor":
5) Give your monitor a name or use the one generated for you:
6) Configure how you would like to be notified if/when any anomalous spend is detected:
7) Submit the form
8) Now on the Anomaly Monitoring tab you should see your anomaly monitor defined:
When new anomalies are detected you'll be notified by your selected notification channels, for example by email:
