In this tutorial we will configure Azure and Hyperglance to enable Hyperglance to monitor your Azure cloud environment.

Hyperglance needs to know the following identifiers about your Azure environment.

  i.  Account Alias (user-defined alias to the given combination of credentials)

  ii.  Subscription ID

  iii.  Application ID

  iv.  Application Key

We will find these identifiers through the course of this tutorial which consists the following steps:

Step 1: Register the Hyperglance app with Azure Active Directory

Step 2: Find the Application ID

Step 3: Create a Key

Step 4: Find your Subscription ID

Step 5: Grant roles

Step 6: Configure Hyperglance

Step 1: Register the Hyperglance app with Azure Active Directory

1. Log in to your Azure Account through the Azure portal.

2. Select Azure Active Directory from the left pane.

3. Select App registrations.

4. Select Add.

5. Fill in:

Click “Create”.

Step 2: Find the Application ID

1. Click on the "View all applications" button then  “Hyperglance” app

2. Copy the Application ID to one side, it will be needed later on.

Step 3: Create a Key

1. Select 'Settings', then Keys

2. Fill in description for the key and expiration and click “Save”.

Note: It is not possible to retrieve keys later, please make a copy of it now.

Step 4: Find your Subscription ID

1. In your Azure portal dashboard select Subscriptions

2. Copy the relevant Subscription ID to one side, it will be needed later on.

Step 5: Grant roles

Here we grant the Hyperglance application access to monitor your Azure environment.
Note: You can only do this if you are an Owner or User Access Administrator.

1. To assign a role at the subscription scope, select Subscriptions:

2. Select the subscription:

3. Select Access control (IAM):

4. Select Add.

5. Select the role.

· Hyperglance only requires the Reader role. (You will not be able to use Hyperglance’s management actions).

· To enable the Actions in Hyperglance then grant the Contributor role.

6. Select the Hyperglance user.
Initially it will not show up in the list. Start typing “Hyperglance” in the search box to find the Hyperglance user.

7. Click SELECT and then click OK to finish assigning the role.

NOTE: If you want to add multiple subscriptions you can just assign the same Application to different subscriptions. You then add in separate Entry in Hyperglance using a different Alias and subscription but use the same App ID & key.

Step 6: Configure Hyperglance

1. In your browser visit the Hyperglance Admin Panel i.e https://IP_address/#/admin.

2. Select the 'Azure' collector and click on the 'Add Record' button:
